I recently retired after a 40-year career in the post-secondary sector: over 30 years with two Ontario community colleges and nearly 10 years with the University of Toronto. I enjoy reading, the cinema, travelling, pickleball and running.

I first become a Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Welland in 1983 and joined the Rotary Club of Toronto West in 2013 after moving to Etobicoke. I am a strong proponent of community service, and feel that a person should give back to the community in which one resides.

I have been duly impressed with the funds generated through the club’s fundraising efforts, all by a relatively small number of members. And from my observations, the collegiality and fellowship exhibited by the members of the Rotary Club of Toronto West is second to none. The atmosphere in the meetings and club socials is always friendly, warm and welcoming.

If an individual has the time and inclination to make a difference, then the Rotary Club of Toronto West should be your service club of choice.
